🐇 7: Emotions
They’re powerful.
The force behind most of our decisions, yet- for most - they operate independently from our consciousness. That is - we don’t pay much attention to them, and our actions are driven (not informed) by them.
Remove emotion from any situation, and the outcome is potentially less potent.
Use emotion in any situation, and the outcomes are potentially black and white.
Next time you’re in a crisis and your first reaction is panic, anger, sadness, or any visceral emotion, allow it to subside before acting. Then, be the pilot of your emotions. What is the ideal outcome of this situation? What emotion can I deploy (or convey) which is most likely to achieve that outcome?
Emotional control is a tool running has equipped me with. You simply can’t run long distances if you are not in control of your emotions.
When your body reaches it’s what it thinks is its physical limit, your mind takes over. So when the mind is on the brink of giving in, the body preps to do just that.
