đ 6: Listen to the whispers
Training your body is an experiment. Youâre constantly changing inputs (volume, intensity) to see how your body responds (fitness, aerobic capacity).
In response to those inputs, your body gives you clues about how things are going. A niggle here, a tickle there. Theyâre what I call âwhispersâ.
When ignored, whispers can turn into shouts. If your body is shouting, itâs likely youâre headed for full shutdown - any runnerâs worst situation.
Similarly, in business, and in life, there are small signals which âwhisperâ feedback to you:
Disgruntled employeeâs;
Declining website traffic;
Lagging technologies;
Reduction in output, among others.
Do you have a network of whispers you can rely on? Are you attuned to them? Metrics matter. Is your data working for you?
